What is Directx ?

DirectX is the Software Programming Interface (API) developed by Microsoft for games and multimedia software. In fact, if we say that it consists of many APIs, we are not mistaken. The importance of the API, which provides superior compatibility besides providing a better gaming experience, visual and audio experience, is an indisputable fact. In fact, Microsoft has developed DirectX for Windows 95 in order to attract game programmers to Windows. In addition, Microsoft's Xbox console uses DirectX. The company added the "X" tag to popularize DirectX and direct existing users to the console.
Overall, DirectX is a complementary task. This provides the connection between your computer's hardware and application. The development of DirectX is ongoing and follows in parallel with the development of graphics cards in general. Thanks to the software that contributes to the realism in the games, the base of interacting with the environment is provided today. If you say DirectX has a rival, of course. The most important of these is the Vulcan developed by AMD. We will be writing about Vulcan later. If you wish, let's move to the components included with DirectX.

What Is Tesellation?
Now with Windows 10, the DirectX 12 is spoken. With the DX12, an incredible increase in polygons and PC hardware will be reduced. However, the power of the hardware will be used much better. So we are talking about a 40% increase in performance. If your video card supports the DX12 version.

DirectInput;
It is the interface that manages input, output and data of devices such as mouse, keyboard, joystick.
DirectSound;
Used for two and three dimensional sounds. It is also used in the interface of sound cards.
DirectMusic;
We can call it an interactive audio component. It's all about the audio that comes to mind under Windows.
Direct3D;
It is one of the most important APIs. Allows 2 or 3-D images to be transferred to the screen. Developed with the contribution of ATI and NVIDIA. The alternative is OpenGL.
DirectPlay;
Modem, Internet and network connections on the game provides. It ensures that both the voice chat in the games and the game data are not lost. Supports TCP / IP, IPX, Bluetooth and direct modem connections.
DirectDraw; Provides a quick connection to the video adapter features. The API accelerates the rendering and graphics applications, allowing full-screen windows and embedded screens to run. The 2D API is inefficient in 3D jobs and Direct3D solves that vulnerability.
DirectShow; The API provides the ability to capture and play multimedia files on the Internet. Supports various audio and video formats such as ASF, AVI, DV, MPEG, MP3, WMA, WMV, WAV.

DirectX Versions
DirectX, which was developed by Criag EislerAlex St.John and Eric Engstrum, had its first release in 1994. Then came versions 2, 3, 4, but the fourth version was not released and the same year the 5th version was released. However, with DirectX 5, Microsoft was able to reach the attention it expected.

Then came DirectX 6 (1998) with DxDiag support. One followed the 7 and 8 versions with DirectX 9 to bring improvement while giving importance to optimization. It was released in 2002 and has been released in different versions until 2004 and DirectX has survived up to 10 years. Then Windows Vista and DirectX 10 came with DirectSound and DirectInpu APIs and made improvements on the graphics side.

DirectX 11, which is currently in use with Windows 7, is now being introduced with innovations. With the DX11 Tessellation, it has reached much more polygon levels and the level of detail that appears on the screen has increased to the next level.

DirectX 12 Supported Graphics Cards
We have come to the end of our writing. I told you I was going to write a short article last week but it was a long article. If you have a question or a question that you are curious about, specify as a comment and let us transfer the information to the Dijitaller family in your article. Stay blown until our next article.
